New Month, New Year, New Decade. A lot happening all at the start of January. I can’t believe January is just a few hours away. It seems like we were just celebrating the beginning of 2019. But now, as we begin to take another trip around the sun, it is time to start thinking about the intentions we want to set for the new year. I did away with New Year’s resolutions a few years ago, when I was introduced to choosing a word or phrase to shape the trajectory of the year. Last year, I wanted the word “Overflow” because I was looking for an abundance of good things to come in my life. 2019 was a year full of “Overflow.” My cup was full and overflowing with successes and challenges.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve gone back and forth and pondered on what my 2020 word of the year would be. There have been several words that have come my way lately, but they’ve all had similar meanings that are connected. Courageous, Faith, Confidence, and Bold kept showing up everywhere. But I’ve finally narrowed it down to one word, but I’ll anchor this phrase with those others.  My 2020 Word of the Year is “Bloom”.

What does the word Bloom mean to me?

This year I’m ready to thrive and succeed. These last few years have been building block years for me. I’ve grown so much both personally and professionally. While I’m still growing, I want to step into my full bloom season with strength, faith, confidence, and be ready to make bold moves in 2020. I spent part of 2019, clearing out the harmful weeds trying to take over my garden of life so that I could focus on God’s purpose and path prepared for me in 2020.

I have a sense great things are on the horizon in 2020. I have several big asks on my vision board and prayer wall. While I’m keeping those asks close to me. I’m planning to remain rooted and faithful in what God and the Universe plan to deliver.
