Bedding essentials for the best night's sleep

Working from home can take a lot out of you especially if you are working extended hours. The thought of cuddling up in bed for the night may seem like your dream destination at this very moment. Your bedroom is supposed to be your sanctuary and a place where you can retreat to unwind at the end of the day.

During the few first weeks of being quarantined at home, I started to get the itch to start making over my master bedroom at my condo. As i mentioned previously, most of my bedroom furniture was from my undergraduate years in college, which I means I’ve had it for more than a decade. So it was time for a much needed refresh.

I wanted an upholstered bed frame that was timeless and could go with me to my next home. I fell in love with this sleigh bed from Macy’s at first sight. It checked all of the boxes for what I was looking for in style and design. I kept the mattress and box spring that I had since I just purchased it from Sam’s Club, less than two years ago. After I purchased the bed, I was on the hunt for new bedding. I wanted to play up the neutral tones in my bedroom and bring out the beach house theme for the room.

Has your bedroom decor reached its expiration date? I’ve rounded up a list of bedding essentials that will help you give your bedroom a facelift in no time.

Sheets

To really make your bedding pop, opt for a high-quality wrinkle resistant white sheet. The White sheet colors go well with any room theme and is a classic and timeless color. If you want your sheets to have a pop of color, opt for stitching with a colored detail.

Duvets and Comforters

The great thing about duvet is that you can switch them out whenever you want to have a change in look and feel. I change my duvet covers out seasonally.

Accent Pillows

Accent pillows are a great way to embed a little bit of personality into the room. You can mix and match different fabrics to jazz up the room.

Quilts

When styling your bed always opt for layers. For the cooler months, place a lightweight quilt on top your sheets followed by a duvet cover. During the summers, I keep my duvet cover at the end my bed for decoration but at night I pull it off and just sleep with a quilt. A white or lightly colored quilt is a great way to add texture and bring in a calming effect to the room.
